As Executive Director of GlobalPlatform, Mr. Gillick is responsible for driving awareness and accelerating adoption of the GlobalPlatform Specifications within worldwide markets. Mr. Gillick coordinates and manages the organization’s strategic planning and oversees all marketing and business development initiatives within key vertical market sectors. He works closely with GlobalPlatform’s Technical Director, all three of the organization’s technical committees – Secure Element (SE), Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) and Trusted Platform Services (TPS) – and the GlobalPlatform Task Forces. Mr. Gillick is directly responsible to the Board of Directors and the GlobalPlatform membership.
Prior to his appointment to a full-time role within GlobalPlatform, Mr. Gillick held various marketing and business development at a range of multi-national technology (or technology-based) corporations.
Mr. Gillick has served as GlobalPlatform’s full-time Executive Director since 2006.
Mr. Bernabeu is the Technical Advisor for the Standardization and Technology Department at Gemalto. In this role, he supports Gemalto’s marketing and product groups to deploy trusted and convenient digital services.
Mr. Bernabeu was elected as GlobalPlatform’s Technical Director in 2005. His main role is to drive forward the development of GlobalPlatform’s specifications to deploy secure services. Mr. Bernabeu also acts as GlobalPlatform’s central technical liaison point, coordinating the efforts of the organization’s three technical committees – Secure Element (SE), Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) and Trusted Platform Services (TPS) – and the GlobalPlatform Task Forces with external partners.
Mohaned Kafi, CTO of Trusted Labs, has 15+ years of extensive experience in the security arena. A specialist in sophisticated hardware attack methods, he currently is in charge of a team of experts whose expertise ranges from cryptography, software security, formal methods to evaluation techniques. He is developing Trusted Labs consulting and evaluation activities in various markets such as mobile payment, DRM, automotive and energy. In the past, he managed the Gemalto embedded security laboratory for the highest levels of security certification.
José A. Rivas Vidal is Lab Manager at Applus+ Laboratories of Madrid Security Lab. As security evaluator, he has been involved in different evaluations of SW and HW products, mainly under Common Criteria.
He is the focal point and technical leader of TEE technology at Applus+ Laboratories. Also, the technical representative of Applus+ Laboratories for FIDO evaluations.

Dr. Jack Pan is the Executive Innovation Leader of China UnionPay where he is leading the emerging technology teams and activities. He has been closely involved in the Chip, Mobile and FinTech industry throughout his career spanning across Citibank, Visa and Watchdata before joining China UnionPay in 2015.
Jack is a member of the EMCo Board of Managers and also serves on the EMVCo Executive Committee.
Jack graduated with a Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from University of Southern California in Los Angeles, U.S.A.
Ms. Guo has 11 years of experience in mobile security and her work at CAICT focuses on research within TEE architecture and technology. Her main responsibilities include managing and drafting standards for the mobile terminal TEE and bring your own device (BYOD) for the China Communications Standards Association (CCSA). She also represents CAICT within GlobalPlatform.
In 2015, Ms. Guo played a key role in CAICT becoming a GlobalPlatform qualified laboratory. She has also organized multiple TEE technology workshops and relevant discussions around the topic.
Eason is the Technical Account Manager at Trustonic China. He focused on new TEE technology use cases in China and is responsible for technical requirement support and projects status tracking for all Chinese customers. Prior to Trustonic, Eason worked for Intel, Inside Secure, TCL & Alcatel. He has many years’ experience in mobile security technology, project management and customer support.
Nicolas Ponsini M.Sc. is a seasoned security solutions architect at Oracle. His technical expertise and customer relationships experience are gathered to serve the Oracle Global Sales Unit for the Business Development of Java and Internet of Things Oracle products.
In the past 15 years, he successfully defined, designed, developed and sold security solutions targeting major players in embedded platforms and cloud services. He is an expert in Security, Cryptography, Internet of Things, Secure Elements and Trusted Execution Environment. He succeeded in several cutting edge realizations with major players in TEE, DRM, NFC, trusted computing domains. He owns several patents in related areas.
Mr. He is currently the vice president of CAICT , executive director of China Taier Laboratory, chairman of mobile network and terminal technology committee in CCSA, secretary general of China Information Consumption Promotion Alliance, president of Airborne Public Communication Alliance. As a communication professional professor senior engineer, he has been engaged in the field of information and communication for a long time, especially in the areas of new technology development, testing technology, standardization as well as research on network security.

Feng Huan is the Mobile Service & IoT Marketing Head for China in Gemalto. She is responsible to identify and assess market opportunities and to generate various solutions for demand in China. She contributes growth for Gemalto’s Mobile Service & IoT solution, connectivity and security for mobile network operators, consumer electronics and IoT customers which include industrial IoT & internet of Vehicles.
Feng Huan is a Security & Smart Card expert. She has been working in this domain and join Gemalto for more than 15 years. She has a great wealth of experiences in algorithm, security architecture, and Global platform. She has also participated in multiple important projects in mobile services & IoT security use cases.
On behalf of Gemalto, Feng Huan has participated in many famous alliances [IFAA, ICA, China GP …etc.] and participated in IoT security white paper, standard discussion and contributed in editorial content.
Dr. David Wen is the Chairman of ITU-T Focus Group on Digital Currency including Digital Fiat Currency. He is also the co-founder and Chief Scientist of eCurrency. After obtaining his Ph.D from Oxford University, he has worked at NTT Communication Science Laboratory in Japan, before appointed the youngest Associate Professor in Tokyo Science University. When visiting Stanford University as a visiting professor, he decided to apply his research to build solution for challenging and impactful ventures in the real world. He started as a security architect at ActivCard (now HID Global) and was responsible for the design of the Identity Management Solution for the Department of Defense’s Common Access Card (CAC) program. He went on to become the product manager, program manager and Chief Scientist at Fortune 500 companies such as Dell and SAIC, managing the deployment of US Federal Government’s Personal Identification and Verification (PIV) program at NASA, DHS, FDA. He is one of the main contributors who enabled the most advanced Digital Identity Management solution for the entire US government by the 2008 deadline set by President George Bush in HSPD-12. In September 2011, he co-founded eCurrency Mint Ltd, applying his extensive experience building nation-wide security program to the solution of a Central Bank Issued Digital Currency. He helped coin the term Digital Fiat Currency working as the US expert to ISO Technical Committee 68 (SC 2) for digital currency security, and led the establishment of the ITU-T Focus Group on Digital Fiat Currency, working with central banks and telecom regulators from the over 27 developing countries. He is also the founder of Digital Fiat Currency Institute, and one of China’s “Thousand Talent” award winner.
Mr. Gang Lian is a technology leader and experienced architect in the area of trusted platform and chipset (TEE, SE, and TPM) security for mobile device with 20 years of professional experience, gained through positions in leading mobile companies as Huawei and Nokia. He has in depth technological and global experience of working within mobile and security industry in a senior level, and has extensive international experience of running global teams in mobile device platform and chipset security and mobile community.
Mr. Gang currently serves as Chief Device Platform Security Architect in R&D Unit of Huawei Device. With his current role, he is responsible for leading the development of trusted platform and chipset security solutions for Huawei devices, defining future technologies and architecture in the area of mobile device trusted platform and chipset security, as well as heading Huawei research efforts on standardization for device trusted platform and chipset security technologies.
Mr. Gang earned a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Aalto University, filed 20+ patents related platform security and served the GlobalPlatform Board of Directors from 2015 to 2017.
Judy (Hongru) Zhu is the Standardization Director in Alibaba Group, and she is also a senior expert in security. She is leading Standardization Department in Alibaba Group, and responsible for Alibaba’s standardization-related activities. She has 16 years of professional standardization experiences. She is a W3C Advisory Board member, board member of FIDO, Area Director of the operator area in ONF, vice chair of CCSA TC 11, and she has served various leadership positions in 3GPP, CCSA, NITS, etc.
Mr. Tang is responsible for the technical architecture of TUSI specification and TUSI full identity authentication platform in Tencent. He has extensive architecture experience of KMS, Javacard COS and mobile payment platform, and has successfully promoted the application and development of TUSI in the Internet of Things industry. In addition, in the Internet of Things+ era, he has profound experience and unique insights into the ecological development of the Internet of Things industry and its integration with security products.
Mr. Van Nieuwenhuyze currently serves as Senior R&D Engineer at STMicroelectronics. Within this role he has software architecture responsibilities for the NFC ecosystem and secure elements.
He joined STMicroelectronics in 2003 and since 1999 Mr. Van Nieuwenhuyze has been active in several smart card projects for banking, transport and near field communication.
Mr. Van Nieuwenhuyze joined the GlobalPlatform Board of Directors in 2017.
Hongwei Luo is the senior standardization expert in Ant Financial Services Group. He received his B.Sc. and M.A.Sc degrees from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT), China, in 1998 and 2003, respectively. He has been a visiting scholar in University of Waterloo from 2011 to 2012. He is dedicated to standardization ecosystem in order for the development of Internet finance. Meanwhile, he is strengthen the application of relevant standards to satisfy compliance requirements of services. Currently, he is a member of biometrics subcommittee of national information technology standardization technical committee (NITS), a member of technology management committee of China Communications Standards Association (CCSA) and a delegate to ISO TC60 and ISO / IEC JTC 1 SC 27 / SC 37. He has also been a rapporteur in ITU-T and the chairman of terminal group in CCSA.
Mr. O’Donoghue currently serves as a Principal Engineer / Manager at Qualcomm, working within the Secure Systems Group. He is responsible for architecture and development of software focussed around secure platforms and NFC. In previous roles at Qualcomm, he was the lead security architect and software lead for an NFC CLF development, and has worked extensively on telephony aspects of both Android and Windows-based mobile systems. Mr. O’Donoghue was also an early participant in developing the GSMA NFC Handset Requirements and Testbook.
Mr. O’Donoghue joined the GlobalPlatform Board of Directors in 2016.
Dr. Yang Yang is currently a tenured professor at ShanghaiTech University, China, serving as the Executive Dean of School of Creative Arts and a Co-Director of Shanghai Institute of Fog Computing Technology (SHIFT). Before joining ShanghaiTech in July 2018, he has held faculty positions at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Brunel University (UK), University College London (UCL, UK), and SIMIT, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS, China) since 2002. His research interests include wireless sensor networks, Internet of Things, Fog computing, and Open 5G. He has published more than 180 papers and filed more than 80 technical patents in those areas. He is a Fellow of the IEEE, a Board Member and the Director of Greater China Region for the OpenFog Consortium.
Responsible for security marketing and ecosystem in Arm China. More than 10 years’ experience in R&D, Product Roadmap Planning and Strategy planning, marketing in Mobile area. Deep understanding of the whole value chain of mobile, semiconductor industry and security architecture. Prior to ARM, Eric Wang had worked in DaTang Telecom as senior technical manager.
Fang Qiang currently works for the Standardization department at Alibaba. He has over 8 years of experience in Information Security Field, and has been representing Alibaba for projects on developing domestic and international industry standards in collaboration with organizations such as ITU, GP and CCSA. Fang Qiang is particularly interested in standardization and security research, and is dedicated in promoting the standardization of IoT security technology.
Xuya Wang currently works as senior product manager at IoT, Baidu Cloud. She is leading Baidu’s standardization-related activities, and responsible for product architecture and development of security products for Baidu IoT Platform, especially Hangu IoT Security Kit. Prior to Baidu, Xuya Wang earned a Master’s Degree in INFOTECH in University of Stuttgart, Germany, and worked for Bosch Sensortec, Germany.
Fu Xiaokang, product certification supervisor of CFA, CCAA senior auditor, member of ISO/TC68/WG6 expert group. He has participated in the promotion of the financial IC card of the People’s Bank of China and the construction of the financial industry testing and certification system. At present, he is responsible for the operation of the financial product standard testing and certification system. During the period, he participated in the revision of the financial industry standards such as China Financial Integrated Circuit (IC) Card Specification, China Financial Mobile Payment Technology Standard, and Mobile Terminal Payment Trusted Environment Specification.
Since 2011, the People’s Bank of China has guided the establishment of the financial industry certification system by the CFA. The system is currently operating effectively and has covered the entire certification area of products, services and management systems. The People’s Bank of China released series of mobile payment technology standards in 2012, and released the “Technical Specification for Mobile Terminal Payment Trusted Environment” in 2017 to improve the mobile payment standard system. Currently, related businesses and programs based on this are booming.
He is a Professor Engineer, focused on media technologies, including：content protection，information security，media convergence, etc. He is also in charge of ChinaDRMLab，Lab of National Cryptography Application on Radio，Film and Television.
Mr. Denian Shi is the vice chief engineer of China Academy of Information and Communications Technology(CAICT), professor-level senior engineer, master’s supervisor, member of China Institute of Communications, National Science and Technology Award Evaluation expert, vice president of Antenna System Industry Alliance, and executive vice chairman of Airline Public Communication Alliance.
He has been engaged in the research and formulation of communication standards for a long time, and he has accomplished or participated in the development of many impact standards. At present, he is devoted himself to researching Mobile Internet, Internet of Vehicles and Artificial Intelligence.
